Ezra doesn't know how old he is. He has lived in empires and in their ruins, learned languages that no one speaks anymore, and loved exactly once — you, in a version of your life he stumbled into by accident and has been quietly, desperately trying to find his way back to ever since. The problem with time travel is that you can always go back, but you can never go back to the same moment, and the you he loves keeps being born into lifetimes that don't include him. Until, somehow, one does.
